Polycarbonate ITO Sputtering

Polycarbonate ITO Sputtering

Our parent company Diamond Coatings is a global industry leader when it comes to ITO coatings. We utilise an on-site magnetron sputtering plant where we have the ability to apply ITO coatings to a range of substrates, including glass, acrylics and polycarbonates.

As well as polycarbonate ITO sputtering, we also produce many applications for ITO glass, heated windows, RFI and EMI shielding filters on plastic or glass, anti-reflective film and touchscreens.

Polycarbonates can be used as a glass alternative and come with some notable advantages – the sheets are considerably lighter than glass and approximately 250 times stronger than standard glass panels. They are also resistant to higher temperatures.

When you take into account the durability of polycarbonates, it’s no surprise that they are used frequently in the military and aviation industries (navigational displays for instance). Other uses include medical devices, automotive components and even lenses in eyewear.

An ITO coated polycarbonate provides the electrical conductivity that some of the above industries require, without compromising on any optical clarity.

A thin film of ITO is sputtered onto the polycarbonate, making a product that is optically clear, has superior toughness and is electrically conductive.

Diamond Coatings are able to coat flat or shaped objects as well as injected moulded parts. We also offer further choices of polycarbonate finish, such as flame retardant, hard coat and anti-glare.

We also have a full range of tapes and gaskets to ensure easy bonding to display cases using our polycarbonate sheets.
