Why do you need an Indium Tin Oxide Coated Glass Slide?

When ITO is coated onto glass, there is no change to optical transparency, and the glass can hold and pass an electric charge. This is especially useful for electron microscopy and negates the need for the specimen to be charged.

There has been an in-depth study into the use of ITO coated glass slides, which showed that cells that were grown onto ITO glass slides revealed “detailed features of actin cytoskeletal and mitochondrial structures in mouse embryonic fibroblasts” and provided secondary electron and backscatter electron images without the need to charge the specimen.

ITO Coatings supply, through our parent company Diamond Coatings, ITO coated glass slides worldwide to leading universities and research and development facilities as well as the medical industry.

Diamond Coatings Indium Tin Oxide coated glass slides

Diamond Coatings supply a range of Indium Tin Oxide coated glass slides to the research & development, medical and science industries. Our transparent and highly conductive coating is premium quality and now includes a ground-breaking SiO2 layer to inhibit Na ion diffusion (This enhanced feature is available on request).

Our ITO slides are produced using 1.1mm soda lime float glass. The glass is drawn over molten tin basins which results in the top side of the slides being smoother and flatter than the tin facing lower side.

The Indium Tin Oxide coated glass slides are supplied as standard, with thermally and chemically toughened options also available. We can also cut the slides to meet customer specific dimension requirements.

Standard ITO coated glass slide sizes available are:

25mm x 25mm

25mm x 75mm

50mm x 75mm

We can also supply other sizes on request (maximum size 400x500mm)

As well as our ITO slides, we also over ITO coated coverslips.
